ABOUT
Customers, consumers, and government regulators are continually encouraging more effective and broader sustainability practices for the produce industry. The Monterey County Sustainability Working Group was formed to network and share current, successful sustainability efforts among agricultural producers and processors in the Central Coast region.
Together, we can help one another understand how to implement, measure, improve, and credibly promote our sustainability efforts. This is an opportunity for the produce industry to take a proactive approach to an on-going and ever-increasing requisite.
By sharing and understanding different strategies, we may reduce duplicate work, find efficiencies, and potentially create more substantial partnerships or programs shared between companies. Meetings held for the group are open to the entire industry. Guest speakers and group members with expertise are invited to present best management practices on relevant topics during meetings
